# xTract vs PDF Text Scanner [OCR]

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Text Scanner [OCR] at 100% against xTract's 33%. xTract's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. xTract sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and PDF Text Scanner [OCR] sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

xTract holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: xTract has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of xTract's written reviews are positive against 100% of PDF Text Scanner [OCR]'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
