# EarForge vs VisualForte

The clearest difference is rating: VisualForte at 5.0 against EarForge's 4.6. VisualForte also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). EarForge's advantage is ratings volume (292 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EarForge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and VisualForte sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VisualForte holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EarForge has 292 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

EarForge ships an update every 5 weeks, VisualForte weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
