# Diem vs GiveInstead

The clearest difference is rating: GiveInstead at 5.0 against Diem's 1.3. Diem's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (16 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GiveInstead holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diem has 16 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Diem ships an update every 2 weeks, GiveInstead every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
