# Commune vs mixi2

The clearest difference is review sentiment: mixi2 at 80% against Commune's 11%. mixi2 also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (23 vs 1). Commune's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Commune holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: mixi2 has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of Commune's written reviews are positive against 80% of mixi2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Commune ships an update monthly, mixi2 weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
