# HIDVCAM vs KinetCam

The clearest difference is rating: KinetCam at 3.0 against HIDVCAM's 1.8. KinetCam also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 23) and ads (none vs shown). HIDVCAM's advantage is ratings volume (57 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HIDVCAM sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. KinetCam asks for nothing beyond the download.

KinetCam holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HIDVCAM has 57 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of HIDVCAM's written reviews are positive against 10% of KinetCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HIDVCAM ships an update every 5 weeks, KinetCam every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
