# Pexels vs Picstagraph

The clearest difference is ads: Pexels at none against Picstagraph's shown. Pexels also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (37K vs 1). Picstagraph's advantage is review sentiment (85% vs 76%) and iOS requirement (9.2 vs 15.1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pexels against 5.0 for Picstagraph. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pexels has 37K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Pexels's written reviews are positive against 85% of Picstagraph's.

Pexels ships an update every 2 weeks, Picstagraph monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
