# Chess Royale vs Chess TD

Chess Royale and Chess TD both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of Chess Royale's written reviews are positive against 19% of Chess TD's. Chess Royale also leads on ratings volume (20K vs 854) and chart position (#185 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess Royale sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Chess TD sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Chess Royale against 4.7 for Chess TD. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess Royale has 20K ratings behind it against 854, so its average is the more settled of the two.
