# Chess Royale vs Chess

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Chess at none against Chess Royale's 13. Chess also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Chess Royale's advantage is ratings volume (20K vs 1) and chart position (#188 vs unranked). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess Royale sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Chess asks for nothing beyond the download.

Chess holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess Royale has 20K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
