# Chip vs ChipIn Shot Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: ChipIn Shot Tracker at 4.4 against Chip's 3.7. ChipIn Shot Tracker also leads on ratings volume (385 vs 3) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). Chip's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChipIn Shot Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Chip asks for nothing beyond the download.

ChipIn Shot Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChipIn Shot Tracker has 385 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Chip's written reviews are positive against 47% of ChipIn Shot Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chip ships an update every 3 months, ChipIn Shot Tracker every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
