# Chip vs GolfCam

The clearest difference is rating: GolfCam at 4.6 against Chip's 3.7. GolfCam also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (555 vs 3). Chip's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 17). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GolfCam sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Chip asks for nothing beyond the download.

GolfCam holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GolfCam has 555 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 49% positive.

Chip ships an update every 3 months, GolfCam fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
