# Text Designer vs Selector

Text Designer and Selector both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Selector's written reviews are positive against 49% of Text Designer's. Selector also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 15) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Text Designer's advantage is ratings volume (2.4K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Designer sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Selector asks for nothing beyond the download.

Text Designer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Designer has 2.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Text Designer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Selector's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text Designer ships an update every 2 months, Selector every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
