# LionVPN vs Privacy VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Privacy VPN at 4.2 against LionVPN's 3.6. LionVPN's advantage is review sentiment (92% vs 50%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LionVPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month and Privacy VPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Privacy VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 45 and 53 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of LionVPN's written reviews are positive against 50% of Privacy VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LionVPN ships an update every 5 weeks, Privacy VPN monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
