# ANCEL vs NoteSurf

The clearest difference is rating: NoteSurf at 5.0 against ANCEL's 2.7. NoteSurf also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months). ANCEL's advantage is ratings volume (46 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NoteSurf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ANCEL has 46 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ANCEL ships an update every 2 months, NoteSurf every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
