# Clock Face vs Flip Clock

The clearest difference is ads: Flip Clock at none against Clock Face's shown. Flip Clock also leads on review sentiment (93% vs 61%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Clock Face's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 56) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clock Face sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flip Clock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Clock Face against 4.5 for Flip Clock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Clock Face has 17K ratings behind it against 56, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Clock Face's written reviews are positive against 93% of Flip Clock's.

Clock Face ships an update fortnightly, Flip Clock every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
