# ThisCrush vs Shadowchat

The clearest difference is rating: Shadowchat at 5.0 against ThisCrush's 3.3. Shadowchat also leads on iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). ThisCrush's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (20 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ThisCrush sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Shadowchat sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shadowchat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThisCrush has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ThisCrush ships an update weekly, Shadowchat every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
