# FLIP vs StudyLock

The clearest difference is rating: StudyLock at 5.0 against FLIP's 4.5. StudyLock also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). FLIP's advantage is ratings volume (896 vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FLIP sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.00 per month and StudyLock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StudyLock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FLIP has 896 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of FLIP's written reviews are positive against 100% of StudyLock's.

FLIP ships an update fortnightly, StudyLock monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
