# Square Team vs Qarrot

The clearest difference is rating: Square Team at 4.7 against Qarrot's 2.7. Square Team also leads on ratings volume (41K vs 7) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Qarrot's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (33% vs 23%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Square Team holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Square Team has 41K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Square Team's written reviews are positive against 33% of Qarrot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Square Team ships an update weekly, Qarrot every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
