# VIU vs Learnlight

The clearest difference is rating: VIU at 4.7 against Learnlight's 3.7. VIU also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 16 months) and ratings volume (121 vs 3). Learnlight's advantage is review sentiment (38% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VIU holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VIU has 121 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of VIU's written reviews are positive against 38% of Learnlight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VIU ships an update monthly, Learnlight every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
