# Enduring Word Commentary vs Bible Chat

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Enduring Word Commentary at none against Bible Chat's 17. Enduring Word Commentary also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Bible Chat's advantage is ratings volume (370K vs 704) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bible Chat sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Enduring Word Commentary asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bible Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible Chat has 370K ratings behind it against 704, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 85% and 84% positive.

Enduring Word Commentary ships an update every 3 weeks, Bible Chat every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
