# CrossCam vs Phonesty

The clearest difference is ratings volume: CrossCam at 50 against Phonesty's 1. Phonesty's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Phonesty holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CrossCam has 50 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CrossCam ships an update every 3 weeks, Phonesty monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
