# Cross Stitching vs Cross Stitch Classic

The clearest difference is rating: Cross Stitch Classic at 4.5 against Cross Stitching's 3.8. Cross Stitch Classic also leads on ratings volume (119 vs 22). Cross Stitching's advantage is review sentiment (17% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cross Stitching sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Cross Stitch Classic sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cross Stitch Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cross Stitch Classic has 119 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Cross Stitching's written reviews are positive against 0% of Cross Stitch Classic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cross Stitching ships an update every 3 weeks, Cross Stitch Classic every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
