# Filter Stack vs DU

The clearest difference is update cadence: Filter Stack at fortnightly against DU's every 4 months. Filter Stack also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (304 vs 32). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Filter Stack sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and DU sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Filter Stack holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Filter Stack has 304 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Filter Stack's written reviews are positive against 71% of DU's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Filter Stack ships an update fortnightly, DU every 4 months. Both last shipped on September 23, 2026.
