# Deep Fried vs Dehancer Film Emulation

The clearest difference is rating: Deep Fried at 4.5 against Dehancer Film Emulation's 4.3. Deep Fried also leads on ratings volume (3.9K vs 434) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 26.0). Dehancer Film Emulation's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Deep Fried sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Dehancer Film Emulation sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Deep Fried holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Deep Fried has 3.9K ratings behind it against 434, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Deep Fried's written reviews are positive against 50% of Dehancer Film Emulation's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Deep Fried ships an update every 2 months, Dehancer Film Emulation every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
