# Solfa vs Complete Music Reading Trainer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Solfa at none against Complete Music Reading Trainer's 3. Solfa also leads on ratings volume (805 vs 65) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.5). Complete Music Reading Trainer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (79% vs 49%). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Complete Music Reading Trainer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Solfa asks for nothing beyond the download.

Solfa holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solfa has 805 ratings behind it against 65, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Solfa's written reviews are positive against 79% of Complete Music Reading Trainer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solfa ships an update every 3 weeks, Complete Music Reading Trainer every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
