# Simple Blackboard vs myNotes

The clearest difference is rating: Simple Blackboard at 4.3 against myNotes's 2.3. Simple Blackboard also leads on ratings volume (137 vs 4). myNotes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Blackboard sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and myNotes sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Blackboard holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Blackboard has 137 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Simple Blackboard's written reviews are positive against 76% of myNotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple Blackboard ships an update every 9 months, myNotes every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on September 29, 2026.
