# Amplenote vs Tusk

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Amplenote at 494 against Tusk's 22. Amplenote also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Tusk's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.4). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Amplenote sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Tusk sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Amplenote against 4.5 for Tusk. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amplenote has 494 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Amplenote's written reviews are positive against 80% of Tusk's.

Amplenote ships an update weekly, Tusk every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
