# Amplenote vs Harbor Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Harbor Notes at 5.0 against Amplenote's 4.6. Harbor Notes also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 78%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs weekly). Amplenote's advantage is ratings volume (492 vs 4) and iOS requirement (15.4 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Amplenote sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Harbor Notes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Harbor Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amplenote has 492 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Amplenote's written reviews are positive against 100% of Harbor Notes's.
