# CannVerify vs THC Weed Identifier

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: CannVerify at none against THC Weed Identifier's 8. CannVerify also leads on review sentiment (57% vs 31%). THC Weed Identifier's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 24 months) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. THC Weed Identifier sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. CannVerify asks for nothing beyond the download.

THC Weed Identifier holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: THC Weed Identifier has 836 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of CannVerify's written reviews are positive against 31% of THC Weed Identifier's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CannVerify ships an update every 24 months, THC Weed Identifier every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
