# Hear Boost vs Waveform

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Waveform at none against Hear Boost's 18. Waveform also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and review sentiment (60% vs 50%). Hear Boost's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 14). On price, rating, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hear Boost sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Waveform asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Hear Boost against 4.3 for Waveform. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hear Boost has 12K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Hear Boost's written reviews are positive against 60% of Waveform's.

Hear Boost ships an update every 3 weeks, Waveform every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
