# Jimmy's Egg vs PepperJax

The clearest difference is rating: PepperJax at 4.6 against Jimmy's Egg's 4.1. PepperJax also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (739 vs 115). Jimmy's Egg's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 19%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PepperJax holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PepperJax has 739 ratings behind it against 115, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Jimmy's Egg's written reviews are positive against 19% of PepperJax's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Jimmy's Egg ships an update every 3 months, PepperJax every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
