# Flip Skater vs Hook Race!

The clearest difference is rating: Flip Skater at 4.7 against Hook Race!'s 3.7. Flip Skater also leads on ratings volume (65K vs 6). Hook Race!'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (100% vs 72%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flip Skater sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Hook Race! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flip Skater holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flip Skater has 65K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Flip Skater's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hook Race!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flip Skater ships an update every 3 months, Hook Race! every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
