# Tonal vs Hyperice

The clearest difference is rating: Tonal at 4.9 against Hyperice's 4.0. Tonal also leads on review sentiment (70% vs 34%) and ratings volume (11K vs 1.1K). Hyperice's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tonal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tonal has 11K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Tonal's written reviews are positive against 34% of Hyperice's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
