# LAUSD vs Smart Digital ID

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Smart Digital ID at 100% against LAUSD's 13%. LAUSD's advantage is rating (2.8 vs 2.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LAUSD holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 66 and 24 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of LAUSD's written reviews are positive against 100% of Smart Digital ID's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LAUSD ships an update monthly, Smart Digital ID every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
