# River Comics vs Galatoons

The clearest difference is rating: Galatoons at 5.0 against River Comics's 4.2. Galatoons also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). River Comics's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. River Comics sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Galatoons sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Galatoons holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: River Comics has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
