# Metaspace vs e

The clearest difference is rating: Metaspace at 3.5 against e's 2.7. Metaspace also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). e's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Metaspace sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and e sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Metaspace holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Metaspace has 88 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Metaspace's written reviews are positive against 50% of e's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Metaspace ships an update every 5 days, e every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
