# Абук vs Booktail

The clearest difference is rating: Абук at 4.8 against Booktail's 4.0. Абук also leads on ratings volume (561 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). Booktail's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 62%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Абук sells 28 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Booktail sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Абук holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Абук has 561 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Абук's written reviews are positive against 100% of Booktail's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Абук ships an update every 6 weeks, Booktail fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
