# Backgammon Legends vs 5 Kat

The clearest difference is rating: 5 Kat at 5.0 against Backgammon Legends's 4.5. 5 Kat also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Backgammon Legends's advantage is ratings volume (45K vs 3) and review sentiment (17% vs 0%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Legends sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and 5 Kat sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

5 Kat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Legends has 45K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Backgammon Legends's written reviews are positive against 0% of 5 Kat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon Legends ships an update every 2 months, 5 Kat every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
