# Hang Drum vs DrumFlow

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DrumFlow at 100% against Hang Drum's 23%. Hang Drum's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and rating (3.8 vs 3.5). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DrumFlow sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Hang Drum asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hang Drum holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hang Drum has 66 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Hang Drum's written reviews are positive against 100% of DrumFlow's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hang Drum ships an update every 2 months, DrumFlow every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
