# Photon Camera vs ReeHeld

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ReeHeld at 55% against Photon Camera's 24%. ReeHeld also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (448 vs 64). Photon Camera's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Photon Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and ReeHeld sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReeHeld holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReeHeld has 448 ratings behind it against 64, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of Photon Camera's written reviews are positive against 55% of ReeHeld's.

Photon Camera ships an update every 3 weeks, ReeHeld every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
