# Pay for Stripe vs SwipeX

The clearest difference is monetization model: SwipeX at free against Pay for Stripe's free with in-app purchases. SwipeX also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Pay for Stripe's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SwipeX holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pay for Stripe has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pay for Stripe ships an update every 3 weeks, SwipeX every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
