# Skink vs Mambo

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Skink at 79% against Mambo's 30%. Skink also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). Mambo's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (80 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mambo holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mambo has 80 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Skink's written reviews are positive against 30% of Mambo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Skink ships an update every 4 weeks, Mambo fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
