# Penetrator vs Canvas Run

The clearest difference is rating: Canvas Run at 4.5 against Penetrator's 3.7. Canvas Run also leads on ratings volume (35K vs 9). Penetrator's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (38% vs 29%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Penetrator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Canvas Run sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Canvas Run holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canvas Run has 35K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Penetrator's written reviews are positive against 29% of Canvas Run's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Penetrator ships an update every 3 weeks, Canvas Run fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
