# xKeyboard vs Colemak

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Colemak at none against xKeyboard's 3. Colemak also leads on review sentiment (56% vs 39%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). xKeyboard's advantage is rating (3.2 vs 2.9) and ratings volume (181 vs 20). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. xKeyboard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.29 per month. Colemak asks for nothing beyond the download.

xKeyboard holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: xKeyboard has 181 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of xKeyboard's written reviews are positive against 56% of Colemak's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

xKeyboard ships an update monthly, Colemak every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
