# Dott vs WESTlink

The clearest difference is ads: WESTlink at none against Dott's shown. WESTlink also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Dott's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (9.4K vs 2). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WESTlink holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dott has 9.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Dott's written reviews are positive against 22% of WESTlink's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dott ships an update weekly, WESTlink every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
