# Blacktel vs SimCode

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SimCode at 87% against Blacktel's 27%. SimCode also leads on rating (4.7 vs 2.4) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blacktel sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $16.49 per month and SimCode sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SimCode holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SimCode has 208 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 27% of Blacktel's written reviews are positive against 87% of SimCode's.

Blacktel ships an update every 2 months, SimCode every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
