# Portable Inventory vs CounTik

The clearest difference is ads: Portable Inventory at none against CounTik's shown. Portable Inventory also leads on ratings volume (227 vs 9) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). CounTik's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Portable Inventory sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and CounTik sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CounTik holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Portable Inventory has 227 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Portable Inventory's written reviews are positive against 67% of CounTik's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
