# IT Phone vs Cipchat

The clearest difference is rating: Cipchat at 4.8 against IT Phone's 3.4. Cipchat also leads on ratings volume (60 vs 10). IT Phone's advantage is review sentiment (36% vs 20%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cipchat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cipchat has 60 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of IT Phone's written reviews are positive against 20% of Cipchat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
