# Time vs Lens Squid

The clearest difference is ads: Lens Squid at none against Time's shown. Lens Squid also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Lens Squid sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Time ships an update every 5 months, Lens Squid every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
