# Magic Wand vs Video Background Eraser

The clearest difference is rating: Video Background Eraser at 4.4 against Magic Wand's 2.0. Video Background Eraser also leads on ratings volume (5.4K vs 5). Magic Wand's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Background Eraser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Magic Wand asks for nothing beyond the download.

Video Background Eraser holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Background Eraser has 5.4K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Magic Wand's written reviews are positive against 74% of Video Background Eraser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Magic Wand ships an update every 4 days, Video Background Eraser every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
