# FS vs Olight

The clearest difference is rating: Olight at 4.2 against FS's 3.0. Olight also leads on ratings volume (70 vs 6). FS's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Olight holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Olight has 70 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of FS's written reviews are positive against 30% of Olight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FS ships an update every 9 days, Olight every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
